Pygmy - May 5, 2009

Pygmy - May 5, 2009

Now, before any of you crucify me for being insensitive to these proud peoples, I am not talking about the actual pygmy people groups.

What I am talking about, however, is Chuck Palahniuk’s new novel that comes out this Tuesday [May 5, 2009]. Everyone really should be excited by this novel because Mr. Palahniuk puts out some fantastic works of fiction [Fight Club, Diary, Choke].

If you’re interested in knowing what the plot of the novel is —> The Cult

And this is just an exciting fact about my life, I got one of the posters for the novel. 1 of 200. Exciting. :D

Platypi are awesome.

Platypi are awesome.

I enjoy the music of the Flobots, which might completely take away any credibility I had built up with you, my reader. Now hear me out before you stop reading/following what I have to say.

The Flobots are political in a good way. There are bands and musicians who make political statements at their concerts and the press eats that stuff up. Example: The Dixie Chicks made anti-Bush statements in 2003 at a concert in London a few days before we went in to Iraq and destroyed their sovereignty [which means the Dixie Chicks were right before everyone else was right] —> http://tinyurl.com/cofohr [this is the only time I will ever link to FOXNews]

Handlebars is actually a really good song, even if it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense on the first listen. Handlebars is, obviously, an anti-war song [a huge portion of their songs are anti-war]. But the reason this song is so good, is because he references the platypus.

The Flobots have a comic book. What other band has a comic book? Umm…NONE [that come to mind]. Their comic follows what their music says, it basically makes their music visible. I found it this morning while I was looking to see if they have a new album coming out anytime soon [no].

“The Flobots” is an awesome name. And if you disagree, well I guess that is your right.

My main point of this post, is that they have a comic book and that is friggin sweet.

tony danza and tap dancing.

So, Monday night [April 27th], I was riding with my friend Eric and Terence the Black Nerd [yes, the one from 96x] and we were listening to intense “grindcore” music that I had never heard of before. [gXc is apparently the symbol for lazy people who don't want to spell out Grindcore]

This is what goes on inside your ear drums.

This is what goes on inside your ear drums.

Anyway, we listened to a lot of stuff including…The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza [which is the coolest name ever] and I really enjoyed it. It was really loud and I wasn’t expecting it, but the best things in life are completely unexpected surprises [except getting fired, cheated on, or herpes].

I downloaded Danza II the Electric Boogaloo [which is an awesome name for an album] and I’m only two years late catching on to this band. Better late than never though.

The album is nine tracks of intense metal [the album has 13 tracks, but 4 of them are weird bar scenes, I don't understand those at all] but the metal is sweeeeeeet, with 7 e’s.

I don’t really know what else to say about it really, except it is something you will either really like or will loathe the instant you hear it <— Most of you will fall under that category.

This is just a side note – Tony Danza does not make an appearance on this album, so don’t get your hopes up.

Another side note – “Grindcore Music” is not to be confused with “Grindcore the Transformer“, I know, once again, disappointing.

But the album is good! :D

pandemic 2.

May 1st, 2009 § 1 Comment

So, this makes me feel like a total dick, but I have to say this: Pandemic 2 is probably one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. Even with the looming threat of getting infected with Bacon Influenza, this game is still fun. I played it for probably two hours last night before I realized I probably don’t have a soul.

This is the world, prior to you killing it.

This is the world, prior to you killing it.

Pandemic 2 is a flash game where you create a sickness and your only driving goal is: Killing the entirity of humanity. Yes, total extinction of the human race is the point of this game. Which makes me question what kind of sadistic douche made this game, but it’s probably the same kind of sadistic douche that would play this game.

I would love to be able to post the game in to the blog but for some reason, WordPress won’t let me [FAIL]. The link to the game —-> Pandemic 2

So in the game, you can have a bacteria, a parasite, or a virus; each have their own characteristics and traits which you can buy with “Evolution Points”. The learning curve is kind of steep at first, but once you get the hang of it, the game is addictive.

Enjoy killing Earth. That’s what I’m about to get back to doing.
