in the summertime.

So pretty much, it’s hot as Hell today. Literally. Hell and Virginia Beach [which are synonymous anyways] are the exact same temperature. Walking to class has been a chore today and a lot like a sauna [hooray humidity!].
Today feels like the beginning of the worst season, yes, summer. But it also reminded me of one of my favorite songs

Take a look at the awesome vintage sideburns…I am definitely jealous.
I don’t really have anything of huge massive substance, just this. If you liked the song and want to download it, click here —> In The Summertime by Mungo Joe.
Enjoy, and stay cool everyone.

With John Madden’s recent announcement that he is retiring from broadcasting [ http://tinyurl.com/cjezj3 ] a lot of people weren’t really sure what would happen to the beloved virtually monopolistic football franchise. Well Madden NFL ’10 is slated for release on August 14, 2009 for the 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, and Wii and I’m sure a DSi launch will happen too. [ http://tinyurl.com/craxz8 ]
This edition of Madden looks beautiful. I know people always say “Oh my God! That looks sooooo real!” and it makes you want to punch them in the face because real life does not look like that, but I’m going to say it: “Oh my God! That looks sooooo real!” because it does.

A Suberbowl replay or a screenshot?
The game will feature two NFL superstars on the front cover this year, a first for the franchise. The two players were recently announced to be Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Troy Polamalu and Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald [ http://tinyurl.com/daazww ]. Never have two players graced the cover of the same Madden box. This brings up the question though, will both of them be able to escape the “Madden Curse” which has cost the seasons and careers of many of football’s greatest stars? Or will only one suffer and the other escape unscaithed.

Run, Larry, Run!
Apart from much better graphics, a new “mode” or anything else jaw-dropping has yet to be released about the new game.
I don’t know if I’m going to get it or not…even though I’ve gotten every Madden game since 2001 [except for Madden 08, which ironically had Vince Young on the cover]. Who knows, but I’m sure I’ll sucumb to the pressure of having money to spend and I’ll end up buying it. Anyways…that’s all.

It’s official, what I thought could only be a cruel and confusing joke, has been confirmed as the next Rock Band installment.

Brett Micheals as a Lego...God help us.
Lego Rock Band [yeah, I just said that] was confirmed Tuesday by Harmonix, MTV Games, and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment. The game will be released sometime in 2009 [most likely in time for kids to put it on their list to Santa Claus] for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and Nintendo DSi.
Players will be able to customize their characters using an array of little Lego pieces to make their rock star look completely adorable and non-threatening, while also looking like they have Jaundice.
There will [obviously] be the usual sized track list [40-50 songs]. And while the full list of tracks has not been released yet, several tracks were released to the press. GameSpot.com named them as…
“The Final Countdown” by Europe
“Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas
“So What” by Pink
“Song 2″ by Blur
This is not a very impressive list of songs, and I feel like Rock Band’s trifecta of publishers is just trying to tap in to another market, but sadly by dumbing down a revolutionary game concept. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Lego brand and they’ve made some pretty solid video games [Lego StarWars, Lego Indiana Jones, even Lego Batman was cool], I don’t think the Lego name needs to go in front of Rock Band.
Maybe this game will prove me wrong, but as of now, the song list is awful and I am not a believer.

They’re real debut album, however, was received much better by critics. Absolutes was released in September of 2007. The band was signed to Universal in 2008 and a remastered version of Absolutes [with a few new tracks] was released today at the fantastic price of only $7.99.
