I’m going to start doing a weekly Top 5 songs you should have on your iPod for the week. [actually, keep the songs for good, the list will just last a week]

iRock.

iRock.

So, here goes!

Song #1 – “A Melody, The Memory” by Mae. This song was released in March as part of the “12 Songs. 12 Months. 1 Goal. Make a Difference” campaign. It is available for a $1 download on their website. [see my other post to learn more about the charity and the songs].

Song #2 – “Transatlanticism” by Death Cab for Cutie off of Transatlanticism. This song just describes the feeling of the season, I think. It’s not quite Spring [so love is not quite in the air, just yet].

Song #3 – “Spit In the Face” by Anti-Flag off of The Bright Lights of America. This song just pumps you up [if you're in to anti-establishment punk rock, which I am]

Song #4 – “Jolene” by The White Stripes. Yes, I know this song was originally by Dolly Parton but I like the White Stripes version better. The sheer fact that Jack White can hit some of those notes is impressive to me. However, don’t look for this song on iTunes [you'll only find a video of the song done live]. Look to Limewire or any other illegal downloading program.

Song #5 – “Gives You Hell” by The All-American Rejects off of their new album When the World Comes Down. I used to listen to the Rejects way back when and I recently rediscovered them. They’ve been making a lot of good songs [and were on the previous version of Rock Band & Rock Band 2]. This song is pretty good.

I hope you enjoy my list, if you have any suggestions of music you like that I should like to, email me or comment me.
