Getting Less Than You Pay For

February 2nd, 2009 § 2 Comments

So I received an email this morning from the president of Virginia Wesleyan announcing that next year [2009-2010] is going to be more expensive. My first response is too explicit to write in the confines of this blog, but let your mind wander.

Anyway, apparently the “Board of Trustees” which I am going to rename to the “Board of RichPowerDouchebags” has decided that Wesleyan isn’t quite expensive enough as it is, so they’ve 1up‘d all the students at VWC by raising the cost to the tune of an extra $2,000-3,000 a year.

The is my "Are You Friggin Serious" face.

The is my "Are You Friggin Serious" face.

So if you haven’t realized quite yet, I’m pissed/livid/irate/strongly-considering-transferring[even m0re]. Why would I want to pay even more money when I don’t quite feel like the money I’m paying already is worth it. I mean, we just now got a working library, or atleast a library worthy of being called one. Here is my reaction to the new library:

“Sweet! New library! Oh wait, when I walk in there aren’t any books? Oh…so I have to go somewhere else to get the books that my college should already have? Oh okay, well atleast I have Wi-Fi! Oh…I don’t have Wi-Fi? Well…where is my money going?”

Apparently it’s going to everything that I don’t participate in, which is just as well I guess. So…I very well may be leaving the halls of Virginia Wesleyan because this school is not going to break my bank before I even have a bank to bank in.

Well, this isn’t going to ruin my day.
