A Fray-ed Perspective

So, despite having a front man who looks like the kid from the Bully video game [made by Rockstar Games..ironic...], the Fray is a great band. I mean, you’d have to be a good band to have your song be the anthem for such a phenomenal show as Grey’s Anatomy.
All sarcastic humor aside, the Fray are legitmately a very talented band. And it’s Piano-Rock…which is apparently my new favorite genre of music. Their debut CD How To Save A Life, was really well put together for a band that not many people outside, of the Denver, Colorado area, had even heard of.
Their new single “You Found Me”, off of their new self-titled album, is really good. It’s almost uplifting if you want to go that far.
I’m trying to figure out if the song is about the lead singer’s search for God or some sort of higher power, or he is just masking what he really means [as most "artists" do]. I mean, the song is slightly ambiguous in it’s message. He could be referring to a woman who helped him in his life, a friend, a parent, it literally could be anyone. Or it could be about a spiritual search, that ended well [I believe].
I honestly don’t care how ambiguous the song is because that is the measure of a good piece of work. If people can’t come to agree on what you meant when you said something, they’ll talk about it for a long time, thus, you’ll be remembered for a long time. Although…I doubt the members of the Fray are shooting for that through this song.
Their new album comes out Tuesday, February 3. [TWO DAYS AWAY!]
More later.
